Memorial Day In the Feds

I have spent yet another holiday in federal prison. Luckily, it is one of the last ones. oday was probably the most active Memorial Day I have ever had. I honestly do not remember doing that much on this holiday when I was on the outside.

I woke up around 8 am, made a call, and then went to the chapel to meet a friend and practice a song. All of this was after my bunkie and I chopped it up for a few in our room. We then were served a huge holiday meal which consisted of double cheeseburgers, green beans, potato salad, hot dogs, pecan pie, Blue Bell ice cream, and cookies. The meal was actually not bad, but I am not a big eater so I was not able to take it all down.

We then headed outside to prep for an obstacle course that my current bunkie, old bunkie, and another girl we call Red competed in as a team. The obstacle course consisted of carrying a ball on a spoon in your mouth while zig-zagging through crates, crawling under a board, tires, tire flipping, and a corn hole toss. We talked so much junk to the other teams the night before. Well, believe it or not, we ended up being the winners! Yay us! Later in the day, we played kickball and volleyball. All of this took me back to my childhood and I also had an AHA moment.

It is more important to me now than ever before to stay active and healthy. I think now my focus is no longer on my appearance but on being in the best shape and health possible so I can have experiences with my children and grandchildren. I want to be around to do these things. I missed out on so many things in life with my girls in the past because I let my weight, inactivity, and insecurity keep me from doing a lot of physical activities WITH them. Sure, I would watch but I wasn't in there with them.

Additionally, I know that I want a home where we can spend moments doing things together outside. I want a home with a pool and a lot of land so we can play volleyball, kickball, create obstacle courses, and more. This is my dream and it will come to pass.
