A Reflection on Greatness
This morning has been so emotional for me. I have been thinking about greatness. It actually started about two days ago. I have been witnessing and hearing about toxic relationships, withholding of love, etc. Then today I woke up and saw three things that made me reflect on greatness. First, I saw a piece on ESPN about Fisk University's gymnastics team. They are the first HBCU to have one. Then I saw the UCA High School Nationals and the ESPN series on Michael Jordan-The Last Dance. I have also been watching TD Jakes’ series, 7 Deadly Sins, on Lifetime, and while watching recently I saw an ad about Mary J. Blige who is putting out two movies based on her songs. Needless to say, all of this was a reminder of greatness and how your gifts will make room for you.
The toxic relationships also reminded me of how so many toxic things can block your greatness and become a barrier. I have been praying and asking God to allow my greatness to come forward; the greatness I know I have in me. Also, to remove anyone or anything that is keeping me from my greatness. We all have greatness within us. I do, you do, everyone does. We are all created in His likeness and image, therefore we are great. We are a part of the Source that created universes. That is a fact. So it’s not that greatness is not available to us all; remember He has no respect of person. It is the barriers we have created that keep us from our greatness. That is where the work comes in.
