Completing the Journey

The days are moving right along. My job with Culinary Arts is definitely helping my time move quickly. We finished with our events for this week last night. We have added a few people to the team so we were able to move much more quickly with the breakdown. This upcoming week, we do not have anything scheduled so we will be working on preparing for our next event in August.

It seems surreal that I am at the end of this journey. The feeling is bittersweet. I have grown so much, met a lot of really nice/cool people, and learned a lot of lessons, lessons that I will take with me on the next part of my journey and beyond.

As I moved into the final days (yes I said days) it is my intention to relax and just chill more with my family here and love on myself and them. I have slowed down on working out, not stopped but I am not going to the gym multiple times a day like I was doing before. I have a pile of books to read that I plan to knock out before I head out.

I can't believe it is almost over. This time last year I was anxiously waiting to find out when I was supposed to report to prison. Now, one year later, it is almost over. I walked into that gate as one woman and I will walk out a totally different person in a lot of ways; physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, etc. I am proud of my journey. I am proud of what I have done here. I am proud of who I am. I can say, now more than ever, that I really truly love myself some Sharita.
